HOW  TO  PLACE  A  QUERY

Members of the Maryland Genealogical Society are invited to submit queries for publication in The Bulletin and on our web page. Queries will be published in the order that they are received as space permits.

While we encourage your submission of queries, we do ask your assistance for ease of publication:
  • Please type or neatly print your query (50 words or less), using the following standard abbreviations:
    •  
      b. born ca. circa/about
      bur. buried Co. county
      d. died dau. daughter
      m. married info. information
  • Illegible queries will be returned to the sender for clarification.
  • Be specific! Address one family and ask what you want to know about that family. Each query should contain at least one name, one date, and one place. Always ask a question.
  • Include your name, membership number, address and e-mail address at the end of the query.

When members of the Society are able to answer a query, they are requested to send their answers directly to the individual who submitted the query. The Society would appreciate a copy of the reply sent to the Editor for publication in The Bulletin. Please indicate the query number in the reply.
